Artist bio
What I Do
I am a self-taught contemporary artist, currently based in Texas.
My practice explores the intersections of personal memory, experience, and identity.
My work includes themes of migration, mother nature, and human emotions, through the lens of imaginary worlds.
I specialize in acrylic on canvas paintings, collage works, and henna tattoo designs.
My Background
Since childhood, I have had a keen interest in the arts and have used my creative passions ( poetry, songs, dance, art and henna designs to express, cope, and heal.
I am a Jack of all trades.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Riverside. My background also includes real world UX and UI experience from participating in the Harness Projects. During the UX program I realized that I love designing and creating art. This was the start of my art career back in 2023.
Art Exhibits
My work has been seen in the 2025 Pancake and Booze art show at Brick at Blue Star and the Conexiones art show at the Junction (formerly known as Clamplight Studios.
I participated in the, Armas De Mujeres community art event at Nomas Arte Studios in honor of the International Women’s Day in 2026. My art has also been exhibited in food service establishments such as Oh Yeah Cakes Bakery and Kabob Station.
Artist Statement
Throughout my artistry journey, I realized that art is a powerful gateway that helps to express, cope, and contribute to the healing journey. Art provides the space to be able to tell our stories, stories that would be otherwise overlooked or unacknowledged by society.
The methods that I use to create my art include an abstract-subconscious state of mind and flow; other times, my art is inspired by human emotions and personal experiences. I use nature as an inspiration to create imaginary universes from my imagination, that are driven by my inner child and self. Acrylic paintings, collage works, and henna are some of the materials that I use to create my pieces.
I want my art to remind people of their humanity; especially, in the current timeline that we live in now.
Fun facts
- Growing up in Anaheim, California, in an ethnically diverse household; birthday parties included grilled Chicken Tikka, horchata and homemade pastel de tres leches.
- As a result of my upbringing, I became fluent in English, intermediate in Spanish, and I speak conversational Urdu.
- Anime nerd here, I love to see how the manga artists and animators bring out great story lines; as well as visually stunning and heartfelt pieces of art.
Methodology
Personally, I love it when I am not consciously thinking about what I’m going to do. Depending on my goal, I like to let the art slowly formulate with every stroke I make. Throughout the process ideas are sparked and begin to take shape. I’ll let my art take me where it wants to go, unless, I already have an idea or concept that I have in mind.
