There may come a time or many times when an artist has art block and is in a state of being stuck when it comes to creating art. Here are a few recommendations to help you overcome that art block.
Sometimes it helps to turn the thinking brain off or to turn it into a low setting and focus on what’s in front of you. It may help to not think about what’s going go on in our external world and bring ourselves to the present.
There is no one way to do art; though it helps to listen to what your subconscious is trying to tell you. Learning different artistic techniques can help to reimagine what it is you want to put down on your canvas or paper and can also help identify how you feel in the moment.
After you have taken the time, you need to jump back into it, ask yourself why? What is your why? What story do you want to talk about? The thinking process is mostly on the conscious level. However, on the subconscious level, there is so much that maybe your body is trying to tell you.
Art conveys emotions and feelings, what do you want to convey?
Yes making art takes time; however, the message, the imagery may not come out in an apparent way. That’s where the subconscious can take over and guide your hands to create your art piece.
Take it step by step but the important thing is to continue. Do not be afraid of doing. Of Being. Of being concerned about what people might think of you or your art. Your art is own. Own it.
